FOUR SPARK PROJECTS SHORTLISTED FOR WORLD ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL AWARDS 2014

The organisers of the World Architecture Festival (WAF) have announced the shortlist for this year’s awards programme. Included in the list of 289 shortlisted projects from 50 countries are four projects by SPARK.

Vanke Jiugong (Future Projects Commercial Mixed-Use category), Crescent Villa (Future Projects House category), Shanghai Shibei Hi-Tech Service District Plot 4 (Future Projects Competition Entries category), and Taizhou Wanglinyang Island (Future Projects Masterplanning category) will be assessed during the three-day festival, which takes place at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands from 1–3 October 2014.

The organisers have reported a huge increase in WAF Award entries from Asian countries, with the number of projects in China, Malaysia and Vietnam up from 2013 by 87%, 71% and 140% respectively.

SPARK Directors Stephen Pimbley and Jan F. Clostermann will be sharing insights on their work in this region through their roles as speakers during the conference, themed ‘Architects and the City’. Pimbley will also serve as a jury panel member for the WAF Awards.
