100,301 sqm | Architecture, Asset enhancement, Retail

Client | Quill Retail Malls

The original 100,000-sqm mall Vision city was a victim of the late 90’s Asian financial crisis, an abandoned half-built concrete box located near Kuala Lumpur’s main shopping district. SPARK worked on the existing concrete shell, opening up the centre of the “dumb box” to create an open-air garden environment that has reduced the air-conditioned space by 40%. The introverted commercial complex was turned into an inviting extension of the street; a 24-hour urban living room that is independent from the operating hours of traditional air-conditioned shopping mall.
