SPARK WINS COMPETITION TO DESIGN 900 HECTARE MASTER PLAN FOR QUZHOU
SPARK is delighted to announce that it has won an international competition to master plan a 900hectare area of Quzhou, Zhejiang province China. The competition entry a joint venture between SPARK and CBRE will deliver an administrative quarter, culture, business and leisure districts, a regeneration strategy for Quzhou old town, increased waterfront access for pedestrians a new sports island and a conference island. The master plan is supported by layers of new infrastructure: road tunnels, cable car, pedestrian and cycle networks and a water taxi.
SPARK and CBRE’s proposal is a future vision for Quzhou’s Millennial generation, a programme for revitalisation and regeneration that brings new and exciting new elements to the existing city mix; unifying the development area of Quzhou Zhexi New Garden into a composed, vibrant whole that uses the extraordinary Qu Jiang River as its urban glue.
