Spark’s design proposal for Tangdao Bay captures the idea of old-fashioned seaside sensibilities in a modern architectural setting to create a new city quarter for new residents, visitors and water sports enthusiasts; the creation of an extraordinary new address and city destination for living, playing and relaxation in Qingdao. The master plan comprises three discreet development parcels with cascading high-end luxury residential apartments, private and hotel villas and clubhouse combined with public promenades and squares that are comfortable and have the human scale of the classic turn-of-the-century seaside resort. The development is further animated by the socio-cultural facilities of the shopping and restaurant precinct, hotel, convention centre and yacht club and the layered extensive use of landscape and public art that reinforces the developments connection to the sea.
